Fees & Attendance

TUITION PAYMENTS

Fees are to be paid monthly before the first class of the month. Weekly payments are not accepted.

 

Fees are to be paid by either:

Cash - handed in by student in named envelope on first class of the month

BACS - paid between 1st-4th of each month. Barclays - Rebecca Wood - 20-64-12 13269639

*Please note a 'postage' fee of £2 will apply to cover PayPal charges. 

 

Fees are payable for the full month, whether or not your child attends.

Credit will not be given for missed classes as your child’s place is retained for them.

 

TheatreBugs/ DramaBugs - £5 per class (£20 per 4 week month) (no sibling discount)

Acting Academy - £6 per class (£24 per 4 week month) (no sibling discount)

ShowStoppers - £12.50 per class (£50 per 4 week month) (2 children £22) (3 children £32)

 

 

HOLIDAYS & ATTENDANCE

Holiday credit will be given if notice is given prior to fees being paid for the month where the absence will be taken. Act One base this policy on the school holiday dates published by OMBC. Please speak to a member of staff if you plan on taking holiday credit. Fees cannot be refunded or carried over.

If a student misses 2 classes without a valid excuse, their place may be cancelled an offered to another child on the waiting list.

 

 

CLASS CANCELLATIONS

If classes need to be cancelled due to inclement winter weather we are not able to telephone each individual student. Please see our facebook page for details of classes  running.

Act One is not responsible for classes cancelled as a result of extreme weather conditions or other circumstances beyond our control. 

 

STAFF & INSURANCE

It is the policy of Act One that all staff are checked through the Criminal Records Bureau for their suitability to work with children. Teaching Assistants are employed to assist with class management.

  • Public Liability insurance has been taken out to cover each teacher and pupil during classes and performances.
  • Act One have a Child Protection policy in place.
  • All electrical equipment used is fully PAT tested and staff are trained in their safe operation.
  • We will not accept any threatening or abusive behaviour towards our staff from parents or students. Any such behaviour will result in the immediate exclusion of the child from our classes and events. Fees will not be reimbursed.

 

CLASS BEHAVIOUR

In order to achieve the skill level required in dance, drama and singing; students should understand the necessary level of focus and concentration that will be required of them prior to attending class. 

  • Mobile phones and tablets are NOT allowed in the classes. Phones must be kept in bags and be switched off.
  • Full uniform must be worn to class.
  • Sweets, chocolate and fizzy drinks are not allowed.
  • Children should bring a bottle of water to classes.
  • Students who are disruptive will be asked to sit and observe the class.
  • We reserve the right to dismiss students who are continually disruptive.
